Sharon Anderson, MA, RHIA, CCS-P, COC

With over 30 years background in healthcare administration, Ms. Anderson’s positions have included serving as CEO of Alaska Regional Hospital and division vice president for Columbia/HCA Healthcare. Her certifications with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) include: Registered Health Information Administrator, RHIA; Certified Coding Specialist – Physician Based CCS-P; and Certified Outpatient Coder COC, with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). She holds a Masters Degree with a specialty in healthcare administration and an undergraduate degree in health information management.

Jackie Lohr, CPC, CMRS

Ms. Lohr has an in-depth background in healthcare accounts receivable and business office functions. She is a specialist in billing, collections and accounts receivable, which includes Indian Health Service, Medicaid, Medicare, Alaska Worker’s Compensation, Blue Cross and other private insurance companies. She served as the business office manager for North Star Hospital and owner of a billing and collections service working with a broad range of medical clients. Certifications include Certified Professional Coder (CPC) as a member of AAPC. Lohr is also a member of the American Medical Billing Association (AMBA) and holds the certification of Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS)

Specialists

Kara Anderson, CPC, CCS-P

Ms. Anderson holds a CPC (certified professional coder) certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and a CCS-P (certified coding specialist physician based) certification through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). She attended the AHIMA Academy for ICD-10 Trainers and passed the national exam to become an AHIMA Approved ICD-10/PCS Trainer. She is also an Ambassador, designated to offer AHIMA approved continuing education units. Kara has experience with a range of audits, appeals, backlog coding, evaluation and management coding, HIPAA, outpatient procedure coding and risk assessment. She provides both general and specialty-specific ICD-10-CM training.

 

Anderson & Lohr specializes in helping Alaska medical facilities, clinics and healthcare professionals meet state and federal regulatory compliance requirements, effectively utilize ICD-10 CM, improve coding and billing practices, and optimize revenue performance.
